Earlier this month, a federal judge in Denver halted a screening of the film about a Franklin gospel concert in Los Angeles just hours before it was to be shown at the Telluride Film Festival.
According to court documents, producer Alan Elliott then agreed to withdraw the film from the Toronto Film Festival but lawyers for Franklin claim he held a screening for the festival's exhibitors and film distributors on Saturday.
The year-old singer and Elliott agreed to the day ban on screening of the film or the concert footage in documents filed Tuesday. They say they deal will allow them to begin negotiations and avoid another last-minute court fight. Franklin has long objected to the film and she sued Elliott in to prevent a prior showing of the movie.
During a Sept. Film festival lawyers claimed she gave away her rights to concert footage in a recently discovered recording contract but U. District Judge John L. Kane said the document appeared to only relate to her music recordings. Copyright The Associated Press. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed. Details In Stock.

Both factions do this album and Aretha a disservice. Surprisingly, the critical reaction to this album has been overwhelmingly positive. I say surprisingly because the critics have not always been kind to Aretha on past albums even some of her earlier ones which are now classics. Many of her lay critics are young and can tell this by the way they write their reviews with incorrect assessments of autotune and her voice, as though Katy Perry, Lorde, Jennifer Hudson, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande et al, should be the standard for engineering musicality and vocal production.
She set the stage for those people to walk upon. My assessment. I would prefer that the Queen not do an album of covers. However, I would prefer at this stage, Aretha do an album of original tunes so that she can create, crawl around in and embody them as only Aretha Franklin can do and avoid being compared to a previous version. Her voice is not what it once was Years of smoking have dulled her break range and she uses her falsetto sometimes to distraction.
Having said that, she is still an extraordinarily musical singer, the operative word being She can do more in two phrases, occasional scratchy voice and all, than some singers can produce in an entire song.

Taking a clue from her friend, master singer, and brilliant arranger, Luther Vandross, on three of this album's tracks, Aretha appends one classic song to another. Therefore, some of these songs are not credited as separate tracks, even as they are more than just sampled on "Aretha Franklin Sings Please try again Report abuse 43 of 56 people found the following review helpful The Queen of Soul, but not on this CD!
Someone should have told her that sometimes less is more. Aretha is all over the place, trying to out-sing herself, straining to belt and sing in her upper register, where her vocals have diminished tremendously. This CD doesn't represent her and her legacy well, not even for her age. I could have given this CD a better rating and could have forgiven the screeching, straining vocals of Aretha, if she was backed up by a better production. This CD is poorly produced. They named a lot of respected producers, but I'm wondering if they had their assistants produce this karoke like production.
The production is horrible! Clive Davis must have had this CD at the bottom of his priority list. The tracks that I did like and thought that the production, arrangement and Aretha's vocals were on point were the jazzier tracks, "Teach Me Tonight," and "Nothing Compares 2 U. However, I did not love and respect this album. Someone should have taken charge here and not let her sing in her not-so-great falsetto so much. That was painful. I had higher hopes for this album.
I'm sorry to say anything negative at all against the great Aretha, but I can't listen to this CD.
